Elijah Mendoza is primarily a portrait style photographer from Memphis, Tennessee. He uses different levels of exposure, shutter speed, and/or bringing in props to help convey the emotion he is trying to portray in his pictures. Elijah discovered his passion for photography when he began making music videos. He started as a videographer at 15 making music videos for college kids who were trying to become rappers at the University of Memphis.

 

In this series, he will show the depressing and negative effects a break up can have on a person. He came up with this idea from seeing many of his college friends and classmates go through a breakup and would watch how it would negatively affect them. He will portray how people are not always fine after a breakup and some even turn to substance use to help with their own emotional state.
